Still gaming, after all these years!
Hi - I came across TOG yesterday from the AoC site, from the recent interview with Gaute, and it seemed like something I would be interested in. These days my gaming is limited to around 5 hours per week, mostly self-imposed to allow me to maintain a proper gaming/life balance (ha!). Sometimes I creep up into the 6-10 hour range, depending on my will power.
My preference is for MMOs (UO, EQ, AC, AC2, DAOC, CoV/H, WOW, currently biding my time with CoV/H) but as I said my time is limited (I nickeled and dimed my thief up to 60th in WOW, only to find that there wasn't much for me to do at the end). The game I'm really looking forward to is AoC - I've always been a big Howard fan. I'm sure when it comes out It'll take me a good year to hit maximum level, which is just fine with me - the most fun IMHO is in the play/content as you work your way up and experience the game world (which in AoC should be especially fun).
I've read the AUP and FAQ, and would like to test the waters. In an ideal world I'd develop some contacts to the extent where when I start playing AoC (whenever Vista is out and I buy a new PC, probably next January/February or so) I could pick a server based on a group of nice, mature gamers I knew who were going to play and I could hook up with in-game.
Thanks,
Truman
