TOG - The Older Gamers

Just a few questions after poking around and reading all through your goodies.

My husband and I play a multitude of online games as well as some varied single player games, when the cable goes out. *gasp*

We currently have subscriptions in WoW, DAoC and Sony Pass (EQ2, etc.). Before I apply willy nilly, I would like to ask what types of players your membership consists of within WoW, EQ2, and SWG. Best to see if I would fit prior to committing.

We play casually, a lot, but long since retired our raiding EQ toons, which felt like a job at the end of four years and do not wish to return to that type of play style. I would like to log into a game, if folks around my level are online as well, hook up if they are interested and play together.

I love to help folks with quests, dabble in crafting if a game has it, roleplay when the mood strikes, even raid… but do not enjoy mandated level requirements, point systems, if I have it and you need it, take it, and PvP in particular games.

PvP Preference: Luv Planetside to death… they got that right! Just pure kill and be killed babee. Dabbling right now on Emerald Dream in WoW, PvP and RP… could work right? Most other MMOs, well not been a fun experience. So are y’all strictly PvP oriented?

Roleplaying: Enjoy the heck out of it at times, like to spin a tale on the message boards with folks. Not hardcore, but if you dress me up like a dwarf, I like to act the part.

Oh, I tend to type too much.

As for age, lets just say when I was twelve Dad got one of the first video cameras, they were not cams yet, black and white with a CORD! I remember life before cable, and saw the first MTV video, back when they only played videos. Drank Tab, before it made a come back. Had my ears pieced three times when THAT was unusual.

Am thought to be cool by my 17 year olds friends when they see our computer room, until I kick their tushies out. Do not touch the new keyboard child!

Love to research the games I play, always reading forums on skills, tactics etc. Like to play well and smart, just not have it become a second job.

So last question, do you think I would fit?

Hi Jez,

Firstly, after reading your post I personally think you'll fit in just fine. There are a lot of people in many different games here in ToG that your sure to find a nice "fit" somewhere.

I am very much involved in the WoW side of things at the moment, however not in a similar time zone or in similar play styles to that of which you speak so I can't offer any specific advice but I can offer some general information based on my experiences with this group of people.

One of the great beauties of ToG is that no matter what your play style, time zone, game of choice or personal preferences there is every chance you will find exactly what you are looking for here. Even on the (IMHO extremely remote) chance that you can't find what you are looking for in game with ToG, the community here is very much worth being a part of just to kick back and chat in the forums with the other toggers.

In my part of the WoW universe, we have many people who enjoy playing very casually and grouping up with other toggers just to have a bit of fun questing and enjoying the many aspects of the game with like minded mature people. There are also many people who are involved in the raiding aspects of the game as well, but as with everything in ToG no one is ever forced to do anything, play in any particular way or be anything they don't want to be.

I hope that this brief bit of information has been usefull in deciding what direction you want to go in, theres plenty of fun to be had here in ToG and plenty of fantastic people here to share those fun times with.

Of course you guys would fit in!

You can actually be a member of the community and play games wherever and with whoever you like.

To become a member you need to state your age and that you agree with the FAQ and the AUP in the stickies.

<-----Plus you'll have one fairly close to you as well! (location!)

Ok, but asking a ladies age makes them cranky LOL, only kidding, dern proud of being the big 40. All my parts have mostly stayed in their original position.

I have read and agreed to the required documentation.

We are actually up in Port Richey, but figured folks would know Tampa better. Work down here though, drive is a joy on 19!
