A question that i can't seem to find the answer to

I am trying to determine where you all got the age limit of 25. For a while there, I was debating if I should just lie about it. Long story short. I didn't lie about it. I am 21 years old and I am attempting to determine why 25 is a more mature age.

In one year, god willing, I will be an officer in the military. I will also be a college graduate. Yet I still will not be able to join your community.

For a long time I have looked for an expansive community that shares my views, and at last found one in TOG, only to find out that my way is barred by a simple 4 years. Not because I am not smart enough, or I don't have enough money, or my computer isn't nice enough (at least if these are issues, I have yet to determine them...which puts into question my intelligence....).

So I am asking, why am I not good enough to join?

Obviously, 25 is an objective number. It is a number that excludes a lot of people that we see in the online community that may not understand the concept of mature gaming.

There will always be people who ARE mature before 25. (And those who don't act mature ABOVE 25, in which case those people won't be staying long) Unfortunately,we must adhere to the number because if we made an exclusion here and there (which would also be subjective) then we would have to make many exceptions and that 'number' would become meaningless.

We appreciate the interest and although you can't be a member at this time you CAN hang out with us in the various games.

(Heck at 21 I had been in the military 4 years so I understand your plight only too well.)

Also, and this might be a bit soapboxie, but I don't understand why making exceptions would be such a disaster. If those exceptions aren't publicly known, or you advise the candidate not to mention it, then where is the harm.

Also, why 25? Why not 21? or 42 for that matter? Is there something about that age that I am missing? When on the 28th of December will I magically change? I just admit a large amount of confusion.

Bah. I just deleted a whole ramble about maturity that was pretty much drivel. Anyway, and light you could shed on this issue, or the first question would be helpful.

Hello there. I'm the Division Captain for the Planetside division.

There are two main outfits that I can recommend for you that I have knoledge of that match what you are looking for. Both are on Markov NC.

LotD - Legion of the Dammed. TOG has a close alliance with them in Planetside. We often platoon up with them nightly. I'm not sure what their age limit is, if they have one at all.

IRONx - We also ally with them and platoon up with them often. Their age limit is 18 y/o.

TOG Corporation in Eve is currently a member of Ascedant Frontier Alliance (ASCN). Its hard to point you in a good direction without knowing more about your ingame character and history.

We have a close relationship with other ASCN Corps, but getting into them isn't an easy process.

As the mods have said to you, we decided on a metric of 25 years of age to determine maturity. It's not perfect, but at least it is consistent and objective.
