Hiya,
My RL name is Peter. My sister and her husband are members here, although they neglected to tell me their forum names before they left to fly back to Italy... Perhaps they will see this and respond, revealing their mysterious selves...
Anyway, I'm 31. I've read the AUP and FAQ. I currently play Anarchy Online mostly, where I am a member of Wolf Brigade. Katy and Kevin have started getting me into World of Warcraft, although I haven't decided if I like it or not yet. As far as gaming past, I starting playing online with CS and Deus Ex, many many years ago. Then I tried a little game called Tribes 2. That absorbed my play time for a number of years. I joined up with a group of players under the tribe name Long Dongles. Good group of guys and gals, most older.
After Tribes 2, I moved over to Battlefield 1942. LD didn't make the switch to the new game, but was absorbed into a group called AGB. Initially that stood for alt games battlefield, as it was started on the newsgroup, but became more fomalized and still exists today as A Gaming Brotherhood. We played BF for a while, then came this wonderful new thing called Desert Combat!!!
DC rocked and I played nothing else for a couple of years. Still with AGB, we did some competitive play, but never seemed to have enough people really caring whether we won or not. Everyone from our side was just there to have fun. If you've tried playing competitively against 15 year old kids with nothing else to do but practice, you know what it's like. It wasn't fun for us either, so we stopped.
At the time, I was starting to get bored of DC, so I decided to try the free offer that AO had at the time. They started free accounts in December of 04, and I was on it within the first few weeks. I've been playing that ever since, but after almost 2 years now, I'm starting to look for something new. There are no new shooters out there worth playing imo. BF2 would be if the commander role didn't completely unbalance the game.
Anyway, my sister and her husband and I had discussed MMOs several times and I decided I would try WoW. It's not bad and I think I would get to like it. So I'm writing this book to tell you, "LET ME IN!!"
Oh, and I live in the US, EST (GMT-5 most of the time), so my playing time is generally later evening EST (8-11 or so) and weekends.
Anyway, if anyone is still reading this, boo.
