Greetings, TOG!
As others have begun, so shall I. I've read through the AUP, Forum Guidelines and FAQ. I especially liked this part..."We understand that real life has a habit of getting in the way, and that we use games for the fun and relaxation of it all."

Being a mother of two school-aged kids, RL very definitely comes first, with school functions being a large time-taker. And, as much as I love my gaming, I wouldn't have it any other way. I agree fully to all terms, and appreciate the way these forums have been set up, kudos for a job well done.
I'm here hoping to find a group to play with in Guild Wars. I've played several other MMORPGs but time constraints keep me from really getting heavy into more than one at a time and for me Guild Wars has turned out to be the best choice. I've done some random PvP playing and for the most part enjoyed it. When I've drawn a good group it's fantastic, when I've come across a group that is, well, shall we say "lacking in the art of communication", I've generally just prayed for a quick death, and usually find that prayer granted! lol I NEVER rage quit, nor give less than 100%, no matter how bad the team. This is extremely rude and has been one aspect of the game that has brought me to foul language (muttered quietly, of course) on more than one occasion.
I am excited to find a group of mature gamers who understand that respect and working together can vastly improve game play. At 43, I've been gaming since the Atari days and see no reason to quit. I love the PvE aspects of Guild Wars and for the most part I've played the game with henchies. I'm not so much into "beating the game" as I am having fun and enjoying the game-play. Finding a group that would like to truly play with the RP aspects of the game, actually Role Playing a chosen character through the storyline, would make it so much better. I frequently play with my kids, who are 15 and 10. My oldest has a group of regular friends from school he plays with, my youngest is only allowed to play with one of us along for the ride.
In general, I manage to get in several hours on the weekends, due to the fact I have fantastic parents who are actively involved with my kids and have made a point of having them over for the weekend since my oldest was born. Yes, I am blessed, I never have to beg for a baby-sitter.

Usually two weekends a month are all to myself, the other two are when the kids have friends over and generally we all play a LAN game then. We have four PCs set up in the living room, which allows me to help the younger kids as needed and to keep an eye on the older ones activities online.
I also can usually manage to grab an hour or two on weeknights, as long as there's not a school function, once homework and dinner are out of the way.
I play, for the most part, on the American servers and I'm located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
Aside from MMORPGs I'm a long-time addict of storyboard style RPing online. I've been writing/playing with the same group of people for 10+ years now. Members come and go, but there is a core group of us who have become tight friends over the years even though we've never met face to face.
Oh, yes, I play both Prophecies and Factions, and will be getting Nightfall upon its release. My fave character is a Mes/Rit from Factions, but I find I enjoy the storyline from Prophecies more than Factions.
I could quite possibly write a short-story, or even a novel if I get started about my wonderful kids, so I'll just leave it here and look forward to meeting others both on the boards and in game.
Best to all, in all things,
Dras
