TOG - The Older Gamers

Hi, I would very much like to join TOG. It sounds exactly like the sort of group I have been looking for.

My RL name is Stephen, I am 50 years old and this is my story.

Many years ago I started playing Everquest and quickly fell in with a guild that was friendly and sociable. My wife started playing and soon we had made online friends locally (we live in Adelaide, South Australia), interstate and overseas.

We held BBQ's and physically met with some of our new friends. The guild (the Companions of the Dawn) even had several of its members meet and marry. Sigh, those were the days.

Anyway, along came WoW and EQII and the guild disolved with the majority of members going off to the new games.

I joined WoW with several of our friends and predominantly play Horde characters on the Proudmore server. We are both level 60 and have found the game suits our casual style of play.

However, perhaps because of WoW's accomodation of solo play and the ability to complete quests without too much help, I have missed the cooperative (and therefore social) element in the game. The guild we all originally joined dwindled down to just about nothing and we are currently unguilded.

As a level 60 Shaman I have found that I cannot progress much further without being part of a guild. I sincerely hope that through TOG I will find a guild that I can contribute to that will be fun and supportive.
