...and since I'm 45, I wonder if that qualifies me for the "senior gamers" sub-division
Seriously, I saw the article on the Guild Wars website about the guild and thought it was great. I haven't joined a guild before so don't really know what it's like, I play a lot of solo/henchmen and ad-hoc parties for missions, but I take it the Guilds are an interesting part of the game so figured this might be a good way to try it out, if I'm accepted.
Yes, I had an Atari 2600, bought it with my brother because we couldn't afford it by ourselves with our allowances. I've played video games ever since, and learned early to balance my gaming with my life when the
Colossal Cave knocked my grade point down a couple of notches in college.
I play on/off, and so does my 10-year old, we share two Guild Wars accounts, so if you PM me and don't get an answer, it's because my wife and I have told him he isn't to be "talking to strangers" unless I'm in a party with him.
Playing Prophecies still, and a bit of Factions. I'm currently playing
Man Dissector, my ascended necro, which I'm trying to get to the point where I can try some of the Underworld stuff but haven't tried it yet, I'm still trying to get through Ring of Fire, so maybe there are some people here who could help out with that. Also been playing
Lora Craft an ele that I've been playing as a nuker,
Fish Called Wanda my monk that I've been trying out as a smiter when I don't get called in for healing, and
Bree Van Ke Damp my most recent char, a ranger since I've never played one up to level 20 yet. I'll go through fits of playing for hours and then ignore it for weeks, and enjoy it a lot.
So what's so great about joining a Guild, besides the cape? Maybe I'll find out. Thought it was funny that GW folks like the capes so much, after the joke in
The Incredibles about them
