Smile Hello! and Application

Greetings!

I saw your Guild of the Week status at guildwars.com and was very intrigued by your description. First off, congratulations on making GoTW!!

I hereby state that I am over 25 years of age (by quite a bit! ), have read both the AUP and the FAQ and I agree to abide by the terms therein.

Now, a bit about myself:

I am a married male, 54 years old, and have been a computer geek and gamer most of my life...starting with Pong, Zork, and other ancient goodies! I live in the western United States, but play GuildWars on the European servers for reasons that will become apparent shortly. I also recently began playing WoW but I am a complete newbie there. In addition, I dabble in Prey, Oblivion, and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.

I've been playing GuildWars ever since the first chapter came out, and play pretty much every day. I do both PvE (in all three chapters) and PvP (currently r4). At present I am an officer in the guild Gentlefolk and Scholars [GaS] which used to be a much more active guild than it is now (primarily RP). The people there are excellent, and there is no ill will or conflict...they are just not very active anymore. The original guild leader left, and ever since then the spark has mostly gone out of the guild. I'm getting tired of never finding anyone on to team with or just to chat with in general. Thus, I am considering changing guilds and I'm here to see if ToG and I are a good mutual fit. [GaS] is international, but most of the players are European, hence my playing on the Euro servers. (Makes teaming to go FoW and UW possible). We used to have a sister guild, (pre-alliance) Slayers and Scholars [SaS] that was our PvP and GvG arm. I am proud to say that we actually cracked the top 100 guilds for a short time during one ladder season, but, alas, this guild is now defunct.

I myself like light RP, PvE and some PvP and GvG..so, a bit of everything. I am self-employed and work from home so I'm on pretty much whenever I feel like it...time zones are not that big a deal to me, and I do play a lot during euro peak hours (GMT -6 for me), so morning and early afternoon my time.

Changing guilds is not something I take lightly having been with [GaS] for nearly two years now, and so I am checking out several possible guilds carefully to see what their spirit and personalities are before I make up my mind as to what to do.

So much for my ramblings. Thanks for considering me for membership in ToG and I look forward to meeting more of you soon.

Cheers,
The Farstrider
