While waiting on the servers to come up, I decided to check out the Vanguard Players info and found you folks. After remembering that I saw a few of your members in game, I figured I would stop in and say hello. Hopefully, I will be able to group up with some you in game and get to know you a little better. I never jump head first into requesting membership to any guild. I much prefer to spend some time with a few of the members and get a general feel of things first. So I guess could be classified as a group request and not a guild request. Who knows, we may not like eachother.

Now a little about me.

I am an older gamer myself who has been in the MMORPG would since the release of Ultima Online. I was also involved in Team Fortress competitions when that first came around. This span of games included everything from general fun to leading clans/guilds/what have you in many different games. My best accomplishment was taking a Team Fortress Clan to the top of a league with 80k teams. We had to forfeit the title due to having 4 of 8 members show. We still played the matches and won each time but the title was already lost. That clan had it's own server set for 24 players on a dedicated T1 connection. That in itself was something to be proud of back in those times.

I have been married for 17 years with 1 child. I work graveyard shifts in a 911 call center and only work 7 of 14 days each pay period. That includes having every Thurs, Fri and Sat off. I live in North Florida but have spent so much time on graveyards that I usually sleep during the day and play late evenings and nights while the family is in bed.

TOG is far more than a "guild" so i recommend requesting membership wether or not you join the Vanguard ingame guild. It is a community of older gamers like yourself that play all types of games across all genres. Its a great community with great folks who all have gaming in common. Membership simply allows you access to all the private forums where you can meet other TOG and get to know them. Perhaps start there and see then if the ingame guild suits your playstyle. Many TOG are not in ingame guilds because the casual playstyle does not fit their needs. They are still TOG, but join other more competitive guilds for ingame stuff and come here to talk and laugh with friends. Hope I didnt ramble too much. Best of luck whatever you decide.
