TOG - The Older Gamers

Greetings TOG!

I saw a posting on Silky Venom and then later saw someone in game who directed me here and I would like to join your community. I have read the AUP, FAQ, and forum guidelines and have no problem with any of it.

I am a 27 year old mom of two toddlers and am currently playing FFXI and Vanguard. I have a full time job and I also work from home for Allakhazam.com as their Senior Content Manager for FFXI where I clean up the database and moderate the forums.

I first started playing games online in a dial up Warcraft II game against my little brother's friend and later when I went to college began to play Starcraft with my boyfriend (later fiance and husband). We then moved on to Ultima Online, then played EverQuest on RallosZek for a bit, then moved to Vazaelle where I was a guild leader of The Endless until I retired from EQ shorter after the release of Luclin. My next MMO was Final Fantasy XI where I became known for my gardening website Pikko Pots and for my Gamer Babies Cafe Press store. I have also played quite a bit of War3 and played WoW for a couple of months before getting bored and returning to FFXI.

I live in Hawaii and play from around 10-12 pm during the week and am on at differing times on the weekend.

Right now I'm completely hooked onto the crafting process in Vanguard and though it's fun, I miss the social aspect of MMOs, which is arguably the primary reason that I play. I'm playing Vanguard because I got a little burnt out in FFXI completing the Chains of Promathia mission line.

I don't get to play much at all, maybe 1-2 hours a night if I'm lucky enough to convince my daughter to fall asleep by herself (and if there's no BSG, Rome, or Survivor on). When I'm not gaming I like to vegetate on the couch watching Law & Order and CSI reruns or scrapbook.
