G'day everyone,

As requested, I have just heartily completed reading both the AUP and FAQ.

I'm a father of three from Melbourne, in my thirties, and seldom see any time behind the keyboard until the kids are filed away in bed (I fondly remember the day when my PC was actually mine to use).

Largely through fear of failure and embarrassment, I'm a bit out of touch with the online gaming scene, having instead spent recent years solo with sporting pursuits (Pro Evo, Football Manager), strategy games such as Civ4, but mostly battling AI in racing sims such as GTR/GTR2 and rFactor. It is the well-populated server running the latter that brought this site to my attention.

I'm far from 'l33t', and not too sure what my slowing hand-eye co-ordination and lack of fast-twitch fibres can offer to TOG, but I'd be honoured to have the chance to see where I can, could or should slot in, or contribute in some small way.

Consider this my gaming mid-life crisis; my teenaged son is forever presenting more of a gaming challenge, and soon the day will come where his talents sadly surpass mine. There is a support group here for such a thing, right...?
