Default Battleblog #8: Weapon Customisation

Enjoy: Battlefield Blog

The sheer number of weapons and customisations makes me a little concerned about balance, but we'll see I guess. At the end of the day a natty scope is not going to make any difference when you are being strafed by a Mig!

The great thing is that unranked servers can turn on specific weapons, so everyone (or noone) can get the uber-weapons.

Basically, each main weapon in the game has three accessory slots, where you can attach weapon accessories you have unlocked. Weapon accessory unlocks are received on a per weapon basis, meaning that the more time you spend with a particular weapon, the more options you will have to customize that weapon to fit different your combat role and play style."
I too hope they have spend a fair amount of time on balance, we will get a better feel once the game hits retail and people start getting these unlocks.

The start of a games lifecycle is one of the best parts of a game.

All the clanners know whats what and rip the crap out of the lonely old individual players with that gun until its nerfed, then we all goto the next

Can anyone say: M60 dot, that silenced sniper rifle dot, some of the pistols etc from bc2

What, no mention of the Carl Gustav?

As an aside, it's weird to me how it's clever to use the best weapon in each class, but pick up the CG and you get branded a noob.

the CG wasn't a weapon, it was a personal thermonuclear device with short range, anti-infantry applications. Like a railgun with splash damage. They had the gall to make it hurt vehicles too. Other weapons have at least been nerfed acceptably

the CG is also accurate, but BBDA (back blast danger area) is huge.
would not use it in a drive by.

I rock the CG but there's no way I should be getting direct hits on snipers on the other side of the map. I'd be happy if it were to spiral in an increased radius the further it travelled. Even up the weapon a little. I carry it dual purpose, I target vehicles, enemies behind cover or a group of enemies - oh, and snipers.
