Yeah, I'm level 8 or 9. I can't wait until 10 and I can buy another ship. I'll happily pay for more cubits to go "advanced" right away. I can't imagine why I waited so long to get the advanced raider.

And yes, that mining mission is a pain. It takes me 2 or 3 times.
1) Keep moving at max speed so your avoidance is high.
2) Keep your mining canon on. It's a little extra DPS.
3) Always fire both missiles at the same time.
4) After your target passes you, BOOST so you get back out past 200m quickly.

Any update on servers that TOG are on?

I'm thinking of dabbling in this and it'd be good to know there are other TOGs about.

My main is Cylon on Carprica (US West).
I have another Cylon on Scorpio (US East).

I don't know if any TOG members are playing on EU.
Picon is the newest server. Tauron is the oldest. If you chose to go to a EU server.

Hey Willow, nice to see a familiar face in here.

I have a Cylon on Tauron, but I'm not playing all that much at the moment. I got a bit tired of starting over after every wipe during the closed beta, so I'm taking it easy for a bit so I won't be bored already at launch. Afraid I haven't seen any other TOGs on the server yet.

Picon might be a good idea, yeah. There is, sadly, a lot of high-level ganking going on in the lowbie sectors on Tauron.

Made a colonial on Picon last night and had a play about. It's a bit laggy, but I had some fun.

Anyone tried using a joystick yet? I'm a bit fed up of wallowing in space like a beached freighter and getting blasted...

Unity Web Player does not support joysticks (their full player does, though). Therefore, although I would also really like joystick support for BSG Online, it won't be happening soon. Some creative players have found a way to keybind the joystick input so they can use one, but it isn't 100% effective.

I'll persist for a while and see how it goes, but it seems a bit mental that a game so focussed on space combat has no joystick support.

Indeed. I suppose it's the browser thing, though. I'm getting used to the keyboard controls, but am tempted to try some keybindings just to see how it'd work out.

well so far i like the game. it does have issues. evertime i dock i have to hit the maximize button twice to refresh my browswer so i can see the new screen.
