Daughters are too gorgeous by far. I need either a cage to keep her in, or a shotgun to keep them out. Nothing else will do.

Another recent trip to the foreshore; some of the local fishermen trying to put a dent in the blowfish population:

I have a son, but when I was managing a video store I had this young lady working for me. Everyday I watched some customers undress her with their eyes, etc.

I asked her one day "How is your dad not in jail?" When she asked what I was on about, I explained that if she was my daughter and I saw the way men looked at her, I would be punching blokes left, right and center.

To her credit though, this young lady had her head switched on and knew not to put herself in dangerous situations.

So I guess what I am saying is, all you can do is teach your daughter the dangers, trust that she will do the smart thing ... but always keep an eye out for her

(Carrying a big stick can't hurt either, especially a "boom" stick! )
