Hunter Class Hat

Posted 4th June 2010 at 12:28 AM by Keli

I've been playing LOTRO for a year now and it struck me recently that the game seems to have some of the strangest / silliest hats I've ever seen in an MMORPG.

Now, I don't consider this to be a bad thing in itself although it would be nice if LOTRO also had some of the best hats ever seen in an MMORPG; unfortunately it doesn't though this is a personal judgement of course.

But I like silly hats and the customisation options in LOTRO allow a player to experiment until they achieve "that look" that just seems to fit their character. But, as the old saying goes, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before finding your Prince.

Some caveats though - I'm still a relative newbie and there are a lot of hats that I haven't seen yet. Secondly, by hat I am generally excluding helms. Of course there are many hideous helms in LOTRO and I don't think I've ever seen one I want to display but its the hats that really catch the eye. The helms are just meh. So mostly, this blog will feature pictures of hats.

On to the first - and its only first because it was the first one that caused my jaw to drop when I equipped it. It is the class hat for the Hunter, gained, I think, at level 15. Its actually a very nice item as far as stats go but, oh dear, what a look. Here's my first toon modeling it:

Name: Avornhar
Type: Medium Armour
Slot: Head
Armour Value: 23
Adds 4 to Agility. Adds 4 to Will.
