TOG - The Older Gamers

So I thought it was time to refresh and start my BLOG up again. After finishing the Final Season of 2142 I took a break from the FPS world for a while. I played a game called Runes of Magic and helped set up the TOG Division Great group of people over there. MMORPG world is an interesting one - and one that takes a lot of time - time unfortunately I just didn't have to succeed well.So I turned my eyes back to FPS.

And found BFBC2. Plenty of the old mates from 2142 had moved there and...

After a much needed break of drinking Coopers and other general debauchery, The Games Industry Podcast has kicked off a new season! Episode 16, the first for 2010, is now available for download in the Podcast Forums. Or, of course, if you're hooked into the info-rich gooey veins of the universe through iTunes, you can get it there.

Episode 17 is not far behind it, and 18 is going to air tonight!

A few TOG members, possibly quite a few, received a private message (PM) from a spammer a week or so ago. The account was a sleeper; it had sat inactive since its creation in May 2008 and then was suddenly used for this mail out.

This account has since been deactivated, and cannot send PMs anymore. It was one of those odd ones that defied logic, but what we've done is to restrict the number of recipients that a NON-member of TOG can send down to two at a time. We are also investigating...

Unfortunately due to a big year and so little puff left in me. Putting in the time and effort to really pump my 2142 BLOG has been hard. Anyway here's a last roundup for the 2142 Fremen.

It is a great pleasure to announce that Basie, our beloved Kiwi Admin, has strapped on the red wings once again and has rejoined the ranks of active TOG Administrators.

It was many moons ago that Basie first stepped up to become an Admin, and he is a real asset to the team, and I personally am looking forward to working with him again. I've played several games with him along the way as well, the most memorable would have to be Planetside. Man, we had some fun wiping ourselves out...
