Since the last patch I really haven't played much UAV because they nerfed it's ability to take stuff out well. <br />
I really think it needs a tweak. <br />
<ol style="list-style-type: decimal"><li>An upgrade to the Rocket? <br />
Take it up a notch so that 3-4 decent hits will kill a tank.</li>
<li>Upgrade to the options that the UAV has. I would like to be able to zoom in and shoot my machine gun.</li>
<li>Something else... like dropping a couple of sonars or something. More of a flyover machine?</li>
</ol>What do you folks think?</div>

I love the way we can jump on pretty much any time through the week and have a game. I also love the way we do things to make our community stronger and have more fun. On that note... awesome job Jazz. <br />
<br />
I had an absolute ball last night playing in the first round of the BFBC2 squad death match. For those who don't play BC2 Squad Death Match is basically 4 x 4 person squads fighting against each other on a map. You need 50 kills to win. It's a really a fun idea. <br />
<br />
It was also great to see in all the rounds last night that the four match's we played were all very tight. Sometimes hard to know who wins due to the final round score ending on 49 for a couple of teams. you only know if you win if you it comes up on your screen basically. <br />
<br />
My squad played really well talking it up and running around. TS is a highly valuable app in this day and age and we used it well. <br />
<br />
Great job squad, great job Jazz and great job TOG. <br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I've been playing some more... more assault sniper working on running at the back of the squad and working as a spawn point. I've played a couple of &quot;squad death matches&quot; and my team loved me. <br />
<br />
Here's the kit setup. <br />
<br />
T88 Sniper - 3 Shot kill - working with team mates means some good assists. <br />
4x scope - At the short and medium distances this is really worthwhile. Sometimes un-scoped up close it just as good. Due to the amount of ammo you get in a magazine it seems to work with taps well. <br />
Magnum Ammo - the extra pump just helps.<br />
Lastly having the ability to clear building and wipe bad tank drivers with mortar strikes is good :D <br />
<br />
I know I've done a back flip on my last blog post but maybe it just took me time to find the weapon that works for me. Some of the other boys I've recommended have scoffed at me and then some other have found the setup worthwhile as well. <br />
<br />
I think under it all is the understanding that you need to be running with a good squad - maybe like 2 engis a medic and the sniper or 1 medic 1 engi 1 assault and a sniper. <br />
<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>After reading a few posts from Drae, I wanted to trial the idea of a sniper who worked in combat. Looking very hard at it from the perspective of being a formidable opponent in Ladder Matches. <br />
<br />
After a week of intense work I've come to the realization that the in Combat Sniper just doesn't offer the possibilities of a medic. I know I know it's a different class. BUT... <br />
<br />
In direct relation to keeping tickets and killing quickly I really think that the medic option is a better way to go. <br />
<br />
1. Medics can heal themselves and mates. <br />
2. Medics can easily kill as quick at distance with the m60 <br />
3. Recon assault demo's are near useless unless defending. <br />
4. Mortars are useless against coming up against infantry and tank drivers who don't know how to move. <br />
5. The in combat guns semi and automatic just don't offer the punch up close that is needed and are too awkward up close to be realistically usable. <br />
6. Motion sensor doesn't last long enough to be useful - especially when not playing with an assault mate. <br />
<br />
I will keep working on this... as I think it is a much needed area in Ladder games. The possibilities are great but I think only if they are worked in with a workable squad. ie. medic engi  assault and recon working together - but each would need to be proficient at each. <br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>So I thought it was time to refresh and start my BLOG up again. After finishing the Final Season of 2142 I took a break from the FPS world for a while. I played a game called Runes of Magic and helped set up the <a href="http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/runes-magic/" target="_blank">TOG Division</a> Great group of people over there. MMORPG world is an interesting one - and one that takes a lot of time - time unfortunately I just didn't have to succeed well.So I turned my eyes back to FPS. <br />
<br />
And found BFBC2. Plenty of the old mates from 2142 had moved there and found a home. A segregation of players from many other FPS TOG Divisions and others as well. So here's the start of my next BLOG. <br />

First impressions of logging in the game &quot;there's a man on fire that seems to be moving towards me on the opening screen - freaking me out... but sooo cool!&quot; <br />
First impression of actually entering a server and playing are that I die a lot! Most FPS players have a good idea that they want a KDR above 1.0 Breaking even is good. More Kills than Deaths - I'm finding this hard with the style of this game. Maybe I'm just not as good as others... but I find myself dieing a lot. Probably one reason why I find myself again straying towards the medic class. <br />

Feel free to comment and give you're ideas. I'd love to hear what other people's first impressions were.</div>

<br />
The final's started with a bang... and finished much the same way :D Unfortunately they fell on a week where I was going on holidays... very disappointing but life and family comes first. <br />
<br />
They boys made the top 8 and came up against Pubbers United. It was a hard fought battle and especially in the second round the Fremen really worked hard - but ended up just not getting there. <br />
<br />
A great effort for Season 7 - which possibly depending on the GA ladder could be the last. <br />
<br />
A big thanks to the SL's Buttersoft, Resolve and Midnight - and the ever present master and Chief Maddog. <br />

The matches that we're played were both convincing wins. I played in one - and Lord of Chaos match  - they played a man down and we really should have played better - but a win is a win. The second one has just slipped my memory. <br />

<font color="Red">Kungfu turned up... about 5 minutes before hand. VERY very drunk - and having re-installed windows and thus 2142 we had to wait while he installed the map packs:eek:. Slurred speach the whole lot. It was hilarious on TS. I can honestly say though I was thinking... omg... we're a man down. How wrong I was. I might have to take up drinking (cause I don't) after hearing kungu rampage around the map throwing grenades and getting kills. An awesome effort from someone really under the weather. :cool:</font><br />

<b>Round 1 TOG as PAC - 121-0 TOG Win </b><br />
Ok pac start this map with only 1 uncap-able flag it can be awful if you get stuck in your uncap and just keep being hammered so it's really important to push hard or go home from the start. <b>We did! </b>Strat wise we were all set to try our patented sneaky panda going with a switching squad up the south side of the map. The main push was going to be on the first flag with a possibility of a lot of deaths, and then those boys re spawning on the Squad leader who's going through - a great strat (nice one Res). Funnily enough like all things... it didn't go that way. <br />
<br />
We capped the first flag really really well and the main squad just kept running. Cartech I think it was got through - and from then the running really didn't stop. We got to the back flag and capped it and it was really just a hard push back from there. They came close to back capping us a few times, but our squad work - although somewhat dysfunctional - worked. We eventually capped them out 121-0. Awesome job from the boys in squad switching - something we all struggle with  in our old age. :eek:<br />
<br />
<b>Round 2 TOG as EU - 42-0 TSA Win</b><br />
The Defensive round... man did we work hard boys. We defended out heart out like a pack of wolves. We came on strong and capped the first flag after a little tussle - they capped it back - and that's pretty much how the game went - they broke through - and capped - we chased and capped back. Tit for tat the whole match. Squad work this match was a lot better - great communication coming from BigShan0 - well done mate. <br />
<br />
Final comment. <br />
Not my personal best game - but it shows that it's really good teamwork that wins in the end. In a match that I felt a little un-prepared for I was really happy to walk away with a win up our sleeve and retain our 8th spot in the ladder. Awesome job boys!<br />

****EDIT... ****<br />
2 things... <br />
1. I forgot to acknowledge what an awesome job Cartech did to keep us in the game in the second round. He capped a flag by himself when we had all died and they had all the flags accept his, which was greyed. He took out 3 blokes trying to cap it. WOOHOO... <br />
2. I can now confirm - that a player on the other team was caught hacking... so this match was re-written to us as a forfeit. SA have also dropped a place on the ladder. We did an awesome job</div>

</ol>There is not going to be a long writeup for this one... why? Well simple... it really wasn't a long match and worth writing... ha ha. <br />

Basically both teams were going for the sneaky panda reach around. Our strat on Suez is a get set and react strat. We got set - but reacted like my grandma going to the toilet - she doesn't... cause she wears a colostomy bag. <br />
Ok ok... that's an overstatement... both times we actually did get back - but to no success - and then subsequently got capped out rather quickly. <br />
<br />
Round one we saw them go past... round 2 we didn't. Bad form on our part and great form from them. <br />
<br />
Hopefully that's the last of the teams wanting to get to the top of the ladder and starting at the bottom. Now we can have some fun :) <br />

9. GA servers... the server went down 2 times before we could actually start a game. Well done GA you deserve a mention. :) <br />

Round 1: Win 106 - 0 uK - PAC side start.</b><br />
<br />
We had a fairly set strat that the boys had practiced through the week. Cap the middle flag as quick as you we can and play defensive while holding 2 flags. Let the bleed do the work. We did... rollout was great and we capped and help well. Great start... round went downhill from here... Not 100% sure why and an objective opinion after veiwing BR (battle recorder) files we would probably say our armour was a little sluggish in reacting. (As always... always something to work on.) <br />
<br />
uK took our back flag and we were stuck... <br />
1. Trying to defend central. <br />
2. Trying to take back the flag<br />
3. Our infantry squad had started a push forward. <br />
<br />
Anyway we basically ran around the rest of the map wondering where our heads were. Maddog made some good reach arounds to try and pull the defence back... which worked... but they just seemed to react well. <br />
<br />
Shocker of a first round. Chins up... <br />
<br />
During our half time 3 minutes we made the decision that we were just going to have to go for it this next round. All out... just go for it... and for some reason... it worked. <br />
<br />
<b>Round 2. Win 101- 0 TOG - EU side. </b><br />
<br />
We actually started off this round... really bad! We got mowed down on our rollout... capped the first flag but it was taken back quickly. Butters got pushed off the edge in the walker and well... it just wasn't good. <br />
<br />
Maddog decided we would go for thier back flag and leave the middle to the armour - seemed to work. We took the flag and our armour squad worked hard on the middle... we had all three flags and a major bleed against them. <br />
<br />
We had a lot of hustle as started to set up defences throw down emp mines and get ready. The armour made a push forward and tried to go down into the uncap for some reap and pilliage - they met armour, took it down but had to draw back.<br />
<br />
It was about this time I was sitting in the Rorsche and I can't remember who it was - but they said ok if we don't lose any more tickets... we can win this. JINX! ha ha... An FAV made a break through and got around our back flag. The armour squad hustled back while the infatry sqaud stayed to defend.<br />
<br />
Everyone did an awesome job - with =TOG= Fremen coming out second best by only 5 tickets!!! <br />
<br />

Ps - if you want to see something funny... go watch the BR files and you will see Maddog TK me with a stray engy rocket... I'm still wondering if it was really a stray or not.</div>

<br />
<b>Round 1: 145-0 to {REV} EU - Defensive Side</b><br />
This round started off really fast - we we're a little offput by the quick &quot;Live Call&quot; and then Midnight disconnected for some reason. He was back in with us quickly but mentally - became a distraction. <br />
REV were on the first flag really quickly and we didn't even have time to set up the defensive line we had practiced. <br />
<br />
That put us on a large defensive roll. We were trying to push and get the flag back but they were remarkably good with the PAC standard Krylov. <br />
<br />
We held them off Square (middle flag) for a long period time and closed down their advances on the back flag. Eventually though they made a hard press on square and held 3 flags to our 1. <br />
<br />
I made a dash off a spawn for Crossroads -and we capped that again. Being split in half really became a dis-advantage for us and we ended up losing the flags quickly. <br />
<br />
Some nice shooting from the REV boys - very hard to beat. <br />
<br />
Picked ourselves up off the floor for the second round. <br />
<br />
<b>Round 2: 119-0 {REV} PAC - Offensive Side</b><br />
We went into this round with a solid strat. <br />
We had a main squad take the front flag and a secondary squad of 2 hoping for the reach around. <br />
The idea was if the main squad went down they would spawn onto the reach around squad. <br />
<br />
We capped crossroads flag with the main squad - awesome job boys. It got our heads back into the match quickly. Resolve and I tried for the reach but got spotted and I got slogged on the ladder. Resolve came back for the revive but got pistol ed to death. he he <br />
<br />
<br />
We decided to spawn in and go again. <br />
The next little bit becomes a wee bit fuzzy for me and but I know my next reach was fairly successful only to get up the back and get mowed down but some nice REV shooting again - no time to even drop a beacon. <br />
<br />
Again we pushed and I made a run up the right hand side this time. Again we got far but ended up coming up against some nice REV shots and very hard to beat. <br />
<br />
In the end we kept pushing - but at the end of the night the REV boys just ended up being too good. <br />
<br />
Some real positive - revives were up, and we stuck to the strat. We were uncertain as to how good those boys would be - and we did well. <br />
<br />
Things to work on... Shoot first then revive. <br />
It's painful getting revived 3 times only to end up dead in the end. <br />

1: Rollout was awesome - worked like a charm and put us on the front foot BUT... <br />
2: When it came to the rest of the game we struggled to adapt quickly to what was thrown at us. <br />
<br />
Maybe some more time spent on - the 25 minutes of the round rather than the first 5 minutes. As always - always something to work on. <br />
<br />

I went to have a quick look at the Ladder on the Game Arena site. Whilst doing this I just thought I would double check all those in the =TOG= Fremen Teamlist - actually I was also double checking that I wasn't still a squad leader. <br />

Woops... I vaguely remember thinking that I would possibly not be playing Fremen any more... hhmmm could it be true... Am I truly not on the team list!!! HA HA<br />

Well... my eyes did not decieve me...  I sent off a quick PM to the SL's and then applied... <br />

For my first ladder match for a while I felt I did fairly well. I think we &quot;as a team&quot; have only played on this map one other time - we did learn a lot that game and took it into this one. <br />
<br />
<b>Round 1 - PAC </b>- uK| Cap out 128-0<br />
First round was a lot of hustle and bustle as we defended our first flag. Maddog2204 had strategically placed a spawn beacon down and we didn't spawn on that until absolutely necessary - and it really worked for us. We lost the first flag and went back to defend Riverbed, and found the enemy walker there. As most of their team was there as well we jumped in on the spawn beacon. <br />
took the first flag again, and from then on it was rather a blur. We spent most of the round capping back flags that they took. In the end we lost our main and our walker was stolen... a bit of a nail in the coffin. Butters wasn't happy about the walker steal - but he was 1 on 2 poor bugga - he also found he was getting infantry emped. <br />
As a personal note - I had a great defensive game. I got a couple of great nades and ended up with a high kill and Rez count... unfortunately also a high death count. <br />
<br />
<b>Round 2. </b>TOG Cap Out 88-0<br />
We had a great rollout strat that worked initially. Squad 1 without it's squad leader (with 6 people) was to try and cap the first flag. This was more of a decoy as we knew a headon was going to be hard against the uK| sharp shooters and nade brigade. So Squad 1 sqaudleader was to jump in the walker with butters and catch a lift to Riverbed. As the rest of the squad was dieing up front they were spawning back in on the SL on Riverbed. This worked initially but uK| had a bit of hustle and got their walker back down and retook the flag rather quickly. <br />
After the initial rollout we got a bit mixed and split but it seemed to work for us - as maddog and 4 blokes tried to push on further with Butters and Resolve and I kept digging at the first flag. From here is a bit of a blur again. We ran our guts out and ended up at one point with thier main, and Riverbed. This was great with thier walker out we could really run all over them. <br />
<b>This is probably the highlight of my match -</b> Coming back from Their main to take the first flag there was one Lone Wolf uK| Soldier who decided to get up on a building and shoot at us. We returned fire but I distinctly remember hearing a sudnik rocket being fired off from behind me and immediately thought Maddog. I watched the rocket take out the bloke from quite a distance - and half behind the corner of the wall - up high. go have a look at the buggers Sudnik and Mitchell stats... he's a crazy ass ole bugger with engi rocket magic. Nice one Maddy! <br />
Anyway we took back the front flag, and at this point they had hustled back to thier main and had 2 blokes back there trying to cap the flag. Butters came in and stalled them - while the rest of us puffed and panted our way back to the main flag from the front one. At this point I thought... how can i get there quicker... so I joined butters squad - suicided and jumped in on him. Worked like a charm - and I think Resolve came in after me and cleaned up. :) Second round again I had a high kill and Rez count which made me feel good. <br />

Was a great job from the Fremen boys. It's been a while since I've felt like we've done really really well in defeat - but that was an awesome start to the season. I hope I get to play in some more. <br />
Shoutouts to BigShaneO - who had his vent on the whole time and I could hear him feverously clicking him mouse button spotting... make a team really appreciate thier commander.<br />
