Rock Wars

Ok we have the console wars now we also have the rock wars. If you haven't heard basically everyone is jumping on the "Bandwagon" literally. Guitar Hero 4 is introducing a set of drums for its next installment and Konami has its Rock Revolution. Now the bad news is well A. Activision is a money whore do you know any peripheral they make will only work with thier game and who knows what Konami is going to do. Now granted these games are gonna allow you to do your own Guitar/Drum Solo's but whose to say Rock Band 2 isn't already doing that (I read somehwere the dev's were hinting at that since they had an increase in staff) But honestly did any of these companies sit down and go "Hey how much is too much?" as far as peripherals go. Is it too much to ask for idk some consistency in games like this or are we gonna have a Rock War?

We're definitely going to have a Rock War...I'm a little dismayed that Guitar Hero has decided to add drums to GH4...Its GUITAR Hero, for crying out loud. I have both Rock Band and GH3 and I love them both because each one scratches an itch. GH3 does guitars really well. Rock Band has a lot of DLC that I want to play.

Since Activision included code that locks out DB's guitars you know they are going to do the same thing in the next version. Its sad that Activision feels they have to copy another comany's game instead of building on the strong franchise they already have. (I am aware that Rock Band's origins are in the GH franchise but GH should stick with guitars instead of doing the whole band thing) GH: Aerosmith is a brilliant idea...they could have done the same with any number of bands.

In the end I will probably pick up GH4 but I would have picked up GH4 if they gave me another version of GH3 with more songs. I think their greed will prevent folks with little money and little space from buying another set of equipment.

Just my opinion...I've been cranky about this ever since I heard about it last week.

It's absurd to expect people to buy 2 full band kits. I feel bad enough buying those kind of peripherals once (environmentally).

Actually it would be 3 if Rock Revolution kicks off. I think activision is just retarded and just cares about money thats it. I mean they missed thier chance they blew it concede the rock wars so we can move on to enjoy the games but they wont have that cuz they gotta make all this money.
