I am wondering about iPhones.
Despite whether you love them, hate them or sit on a rusty-spiked fence of indifference the iphone is popular. Also, we know that iPhones have a significant developer base and as a result there is a stream of new, interesting and innovative games flowing into the appstore almost every day. I'm suggest that perhaps there could be a sub-forum for those of us with iPhones who would like to discuss gaming on this unique device. Could it be considered a gaming platform? Are there enough iPhones among TOGers to make a sub-forum busy enough? or Does the fact that it doesn't come from a recognised console hardware developer and the fact that you cannot purchase games at retail stores like EB Games mean that it isn't considered a true gaming system? SO... who has an iPhone and wants to admit to using it for games all day instead of working... Phil

iphone games are great. Unique. Most utilise the accelerometer to great effect.
The driving games for instance, require you to "steer" by tilting the phone as though it was a steering wheel.

You look like a ripe fool doing it on the train though. Not that I didn't already look like a fool, but this takes me to a whole new level of foolery.

I have an IPhone with some of the 'free' apps and games downloaded onto it ... I find most of them pretty good for a mobile platform and some of the 'lite' versions (read demo) are particularly good to look at. If you are willing to spend the money (AU $10 or more) ... it appears most of the recognized developers game's fall into that price bracket (ie EA, Lucas Arts et al). It all depends n what your games of choice is as well!

Can you imagine if I had an iPhone, they would be in hysterics. Are their many free games to download and can you source external to Apple Store for free games.? Yes I'm tight I admit it.
