Default Will be here a bit more....

I have always lurked around.

But will more than likely be here a bit more as I just upgraded the PS2 to a PS3 so the lad could play IL2.

Just got it all set up this afternoon and got a joystick for him so he could look like me when he plays. I have a full on setup on the PC for IL2 and he wanted the same.

Have been watching my 7YO get into the game. I will do a review once I get the chance to play it. It will be interesting to compare between the two versions.

So if anyone can give me some suggestions as to good games for a lad (as well as for his old man) it would be welcomed.

For him violence is a no no.

We also have an old PS2 compatible FF steering wheel (USB) that I am hoping will work with the PS3.

Cheers, Ulric.

Nice one Ulric and welcome mate. We traded in our PS2 3 or 4 years ago and last Christmas the daughter said she wished we could play the old PS2 games again.

We bought the PS2 again.

Funny how a good console you just can't let go and we still have our old N64.

Don;t sit back and watch to long mate. You need to get in their and play.

G'day Ulric,

For your lad I would recommend:

Little Big Planet (Not only fun to play, but also challenges his creativity through the in game level and set design tools)

Ratchet and Clank (any of them) While there is combat, it is kid friendly if you get my meaning.

I have a Logitech FF USB steering wheel that was designed for the PS2, but it works well with the PS3. Need for Speed Shift and Dirt 2 worked well with this wheel.

Burnout Paradise is a game you will both enjoy.

Any of the Lego games have been a big hit with a lot of kids (Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman)

Most of the titles I mentioned are back catalogue now so you should be able to pick them up cheep.

Also keep an eye out in the Playstation Store. They have specials all the time and many games there are value for money. (Although I do recommend that you check out web sites like ign.com for reviews before you part with your hard earned )

If I think of any more I will post them

+1 to all suggested.

My wife and I love playing the Lego games. So not just a game for the little ones. Get in their and have some fun, bond with little fella. He will get a real kick playing with the old man.
