WE just bought a Wii!
The weather is terrible and Christmas came early so we picked up a wii today. Its mainly so the little bloke can get into gaming (he has been asking for a little while). We got the GAME deal which is the black wii with the sonic winter games and COD MW (I have it on PC already but will have a look before trading it in).
Anyone got good suggestions for good father and son (5 years) games? |
Any of the Lego titles are good. :)

I have been looking around and they do look alright. bring on the christmas sales!!
Do the second hand ones work well? I would never buy a PC game because people would just trade ones with violated GUIDs. |
Dunno. Would be worthwhile asking the folks at GAME or EB.
We buy our games new. |

The mario games are good for father son gaming......although at 5yrs old some might be a little challenging.Maybe mario cart?

Awesome! Welcome to Club Wii :D
Mario cart is fun. My kids like all the Lego games but the latest one - Harry Potter years 1-4 is their favorite at the moment and I must admit I like it too. You can help him out with the harder puzzles and he can run around hitting things and picking stuff up :) I have brought second hand games from eb games. They are checked to make sure they work properly and they come with a 30 day guarentee..encounter a problem and they will replace it. I'm not sure if Game has the same policy but I would say it would be something similar. |
Not sure on the checking policy Naba. I remember my kids taking stuff in to them for trade.
They slapped stickers on them and placed them on the shelf straight away. I guess the games being in excellent condition with no scratches, original boxes and manuals might have made a difference. |
My Son of 4 loves lego batman (we have it on xbox) which is also in Wii, my daughter loves the Wii Fit and Wii Sports while both my kids love 'Family Game night' on the Xbox which is also on the Wii. If he likes Dora or Diego then 'Go Diego Go' would be a winner.
Lastly Animal Crossign (helps if he can read) is a nice virtual world game. ps. EB dont check shit in exchange games, as AO said they just bung em on the shelf and hope their exchange policy makes it ok when you find weed, porn, loves notes and whatever else inside. (yes first hand experience) Make sure you screen it before your kids get to them. |
*sigh* my faith in EB games has been ...restored?:?
