ATM I'm using Turtle Beach X41's bit pricey at $249 but they are very good and I can use them on PS3 xbox or pc with chat (xbox has a cable that connects with the controller which sucks a bit) and have not used chat yet.... I'm a bit shy and fear public speaking LOL

Those PX21's look ok but I've always wondered how USB headphones work.

-Can you just plug them into the front of your Xbox(PC,PS3) and they work?
-Do they need some sort of configuration to get them up and running?
-What about the sound card already in my PC, is that no longer used?

Only as I use HDMI for sound, I plug the audio cable into my amp.

If you use HDMI straight to the TV, you plug the headphones direct in to your TV like any standard headphones. (same with amp).

I use HDMI for PS3 and XBOX360. As far as the PS3 is concerned, there is a whole step in the picture there, that is optional. The red, white, yellow, cable is not required when using HDMI.
