Default regarding ban

hi, just posting here to respond to my kick + perm ban.

I would have thought that kicking me out for calling the other side cheats (when they had 4 more players, and wouldn't even up the teams) is completely over the top. It speaks volumes that BundyBear ran off to the admins about it.

That said, I know I haven't seen eye to eye with the TOG 2142 community, so I guess I just need to accept that TOG isn't the place for me (at least at this time, might be in a year or two, who knows). Obviously I don't "gel" with the community - otherwise I wouldn't keep getting pulled aside by the admins.

Big thanks to the TOG 2142 players, it has been great fun playing with/against you. I'll see you around on the pubs from now on.

Can the admins please consider unbanning me from the 2142 server? it seems pretty harsh to ban me from there as well, considering you let the general public play there.

cheers

Deadcat,

Your ban was automatically generated as a result of a number of infractions for various posts that contravened the AUP / Server Guidelines. They were accumulated over time and not as a result of any one incident.

As pointed out in the various TOG documents regarding the infraction / point system, once a certain number is reached, you will draw to yourself a temp ban or perm ban (depending on points). In other words, we empower our members to regulate themselves to a large extent. If you choose to continue and draw further infractions - that's your choice.

When you signed up to TOG, you agreed to these rules.

In terms of your ban from the 2142 server, when we ban a TOG member, that generally means from all TOG services.

In the case of your ban from the 2142 server, I understand this was as a result of several incidents the log files and various screen shots of which have been independently reviewed by the Moderator / Admin team.

It was the TOG Admin team that instructed the DC's to put the permanent ban in place. Generally it would be left to the DC's to decide as homophobic and insutling language (among other things) is not tollerated on our servers. The DC's however decided that in the interests of fairness to you, they would seek an independent review.

I would suggest that perhaps you may wish to seek a review of the server ban in a few months time when you may be in a better position to demonstrate a sustained change in behaviour. Until then, the ban remains in place.

Given your TOG Account was banned from this forum and you have registered with another account - I will leave this account stand for the remainder of today in order that you can read this reply.

I will then remove this account also.

uh, wouldn't I have to register yet another account in a few months to seek a review of the ban?

Actually, I got hit with 2 infractions in 5 minutes last night, when I wasn't even online - so I didn't "choose to continue".

I received a message saying "you are banned until September 4"... ok, no worries. Fair enough. Then I get a message 5 minutes later saying I was perma banned. So I didn't "choose to continue", I got double punished in one hit.
