Well, lets face it, if there was going to be an over hyped game this year … it would have to have been Crysis. Kinda funny given what happened when Far Cry was released, and people were scratching there head tiring to work out where it came from.
That said, I am tiring to remember a Demo of any game I have played as much (or edited as much).
It is not optimised for quad core like it is meant to be (runs on two cores).
This, from all accounts on various forums, should only be limited on the Demo, time will tell of course If this is true.
On the highest possible settings the cut scenes run like a dream and the game like a dog.
This one is interesting, Seems to be some overall speed issues running on Vista and in DX 10 mode. There have been a few that have started running benchmarks over both OS platforms. Again, perhaps this may be different on release version, only time will tell again. So far, I would report the direct opposite happening, cut seems are dog slow and really chunky, yet the game runs fine. Either way, its still not good.
There is visible banding in two parts of the demo (this is a bad graphics glitch not related to my card, happened on both).
I must admit to not seeing this occur, but would be interested in knowing where about on the island it does happen.
The silencer fitted sounds just the same as an unfitted gun.
This one puzzles me, there is a huge difference between silenced fitted guns and not, and I even re tested on all weapons you can add in via the editor, and all sound different from silencer fitted to unfitted, all that is that can accept a silencer anyway.
The hud is inaccurate (spin in one place and watch where your direction arrow points).
Tbh, never use the damm thing, really wish it was not included, same with the default screen crosshair / pointer thing in any other difficulty lower than Delta. However, yeah, if a feature is included then it should work as intended.
If you quit the demo it forces you back to the beginning again.
Well, is this really an issue ? just save the game at various points on the island, not just the quick saves, but a full save. After playing way to many Demo’s that lockout Saving your game, I can really find no issue with this. Crysis Demo, also has auto Saving aka checkpoints that you can load once you start up the game.
As for the DX 10 features hacks in DX 9, well, there is a few huge threads on how its not really using true DX 10 features etc.
My Issues,
1 Not enough weapon sway.
2. Stupid duel wielding of pistols

3. No Bleeding damage, for both player and NK forces.
4. Only play on Delta Settings, and still is way to easy
5. The inclusion of a HUD

6. Lower than Delta difficulty, has the silly on screen crosshairs

6.From MP Beta, no Squads
As I said, I have played the Demo over and over, added in additional weapons and NK / Alien forces and watched them fight it out.
Spent ages turtle tossing, land clearing (fun with Mini-gun), just taking out NK forces by shooting down tress on them (Can’t say why, but most fun since nailing targets to the roof from F.E.A.R), using nothing but grenade launcher on moving attack boats, putting exploding barrels and fuel cans + cars into a single building, and piling it up real good with items from all over the island, and then…well…
I use all the Suit settings, speed for travelling, cloak to get into position and then strength for Sniping and run and gunning with a SMG. Also have to give thumbs up as to how they will try just shooting where they last saw you cloak, or how they will head over to boxes, barrels, tress etc that you have shot with a silenced weapon / thrown item. Also fun to throw a fuel barrel into a full village while cloaked, wait till they all come over to investigate and …well
Personally, I think Crysis is no where near the Over hype that was Bioshock,
Will be picking this one up for sure, and hoping that a Mod team does something like S.T.A.L.K.E.R Redux for Crysis, and that Squads get introduced into the MP aspect.
