Default Stealth/silent wetwork??

So I've got some time to play. I load up the SP of Crysis, and proceed into the village to rescue the kidnapped scientist. Bad dudes absolutely everywhere, mines all over the place, and no easy way in. So I try the sneaky sneaky approach.

Take down one guy silently (by himself) and move onto a dual machine gun post by a road. Guys all over the place, but none within fifteen meters I guess. Stealthy, I creep up to one of the gunners, and he's facing away from me, like a good enemy.

So I grab him, kill him, and the others open fire.

So I headshot him with my doubletap silenced pistol. The others open fire.

So I melee rifle butt him, and the others open fire.

Is there ANY way to do a silent, unobserved kill when others nearby?? If not, I really need to know, cos that is how I love to play. Anyone??

Sometimes yes - othertimes no.

I think it's a little bit of an issue. You can, if you're a great shot pick someone off with a headshot and their mate might not notice if he's facing away.

That said, I've picked someone off from a mile out who was up on a watch out tower and the flare for the chopper still fired.

As for the level you're on, it's way cool if you sneak around the petrol station and play there.

Yep sure can for that level.
I crossed over the river a bit further up from the bridge, and swam down a tad. I came up onto the bank near the bridge and tookout both MG'ers either side with a tranq dart. I then cloaked up to one of the nests and with a put a round into the head of the NK with a quiet handgun round. Went prone and let energy build back up, then headed across the road to the other nest in cloak and also put that NK out of the game.

I then snuck around the camp for a bit taking out all the MG nests around the edge of the town and then moved building by building into the Primary.

Really enjoyed that map, the time taken to get all the little details into place gah.

Ive noticed the omnipotent AI as well, a little annoying at times. If you are really miffed with it you can tweak your config settings:

Quote:
ai_SOM - The two ai_SOM variables determine the speed with which your 'Stealth-O-Meter' (SOM) rises. Basically higher values for these variables cause the enemy to detect you and react faster during combat or relaxed mode (i.e prior to combat) respectively (system).
you can change this setting in your Crysis \ Game \ Config folder
there are different files for easy medium hard delta difficulty, compare the values and try out some variations.

Thanks mate, but I'll keep it as designed and live with it. One niggling little quirk, so I can deal with it.

Cheers.

You can use him as a shield but only to take the bullets for you. His mates will still shoot at you - I think that bit should be tweaked and they should at the very least hesitate.
