Yep Headshots are the way to go. If you're using the sniping scope watch how it bobs up and down to your hearbeat and fire as it's turning back (is there a way to hold breath? I didn't notice one).
You don't have to kill everyone, but I like to. I really enjoyed stealthing about and popping up to take them out 1x1. If they start figuring out where you are, sneak up behind them. I found the AI rather stupid in figuring out which way fire was coming from. Use the enemy guns, easier to get ammo and you can detach all the things off your scar and pop them onto the enemy gun so it's more or less the same thing. I didn't use shotguns much, until the end vs the aliens. You can stealth about places and hide yourself inside tree's and bushes, or behind fences to charge your power back up. Helicopters have thermal imaging, keep cloaked while they're about and shoot them down with misisle launchers (you can double-triple tap and fire them rapidly, then hide behind a boulder as they shoot back).

Yeah as Reoh says, the first thing you should do, from the very first combat on the beach, is to police up any enemy weapons and ammo. Form my runs through the game I learnt real fast that scar ammon is not just laying about, get that korean rifle in you hands and you should be fine. Keep an eye out for incendary ammo, not common but rocks hard. And remember..grenades are your friend.

I practically never used the grenades, and when I did I guess I Didn't use them right because they didn't seem to get kills. Was there a way to cook them like in CoD4?

Yeah I found nades to be good for distractions only. There'd be four dudes gathered together, and I'd be lucky to get one with a near perfect throw.
Likewise... Don't think I ever got naded either! ![]()

unfortunately theres no way to cook the grenades but if you use "maximum strength" you can hurl the grenades about 500 meters straight at the enemy. theres no dodging that fastball
