I downloaded and have played the demo for a bit, and liked it, so I went out and bought the game. Installed with no problem, but now every time I try to play, all I get is a dialog box with the message:
"Conflict with Emulation Software detected." [OK] Yes, I tried shutting down both Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%'s disk emulation, but still no joy. No luck in searching the EA forums on this topic either. Any bright ideas? |

Sometimes you will need to totally uninstall any emulation software to get past some forms of piracy control. There is an application to circumvent this however that is most likely a breach of TOG policy and there is normally other effective ways of getting around the issue if you actually own the game. Cleaning the registry after uninstalling emulation software may be required to remove any registry entries relating to it.
That being said I have no problem installing/playing Crysis with Daemon tools installed and running. |

Nastiness. OK, I'll see what I can work out. I'm only using Alcohol 120% as that was my solution for keeping BF2142 mounted and saving the DVD from wear-and-tear. The sites listed as a reply to my other thread may provide a Daemon-compatible solution for BF2142 though - I'll see.
Thanx for the info, gang! |

Still no joy. I did find a solution on one of those sites that allowed me to play BF2142 without the DVD in the drive and without Alcohol 120% installed, so of course I was able to totally uninstall Alcohol 120% (which I did, and yes, I've rebooted since uninstalling). I still have DaemonTools installed/running for other games, though (based on cyrik's info, that shouldn't be a problem though, right?).
Crysis still won't play - same bogus message as was listed in my first post. I have some other options to pursue here (from those same sites), but thought maybe someone might want to know what I'd found out - or have more insight into what I'm seeing. |

Nope, I'm toast. Can't get the ^&#$%@*& game to work no matter what I try.
I guess the good news is that I no longer need to have Alcohol 120% installed, and can totally work with DaemonTools now, but it sure would be nice to be able to play the game I spent my hard-earned cash on! Thanx EA, you rock. |
