Hehe, I'm getting closer. I'm just not sure because it sounds kind of buggy right now. The latest patch sounds good though.

The buggs aren't that bad really - there's an occasional duping bug - and if you carry extra weapons (very rare) then sometimes they dissapear. Prolly worst one is the chopper crash from last night but we've been playing for a while and it was one of the first choppers we have seen (or 2nd?).

I think what might possibly turn some people off is the lack of polish - a lot of things are "clunky" or counter-intuitive (the inventory for example).

It's sort of the first STALKER game - weird bugs and bizarre behavior - all part of the charm.

i played bf3 beta only not alpha and beta was slightly buggy (like when you went prone and went on a noclip journey through spacetime) but the final product was extremely well polished. sure, there were bugs but to compare these minor things to the garbage tip that is dayz mod is unfair to the gigantic, highly paid team at diece.

(ps, i loved and played the heck out of bf3 - and do quite often still and i am currently in love with dayz)

What do you guys think about the ARMA 3 release this year? I know they pulled Rocket off of what he was doing to work on DayZ full time and he talked about it porting to 3. I have a few games coming out soon and was thinking it might be better to wait for that but it might not come with the release. Have you guys heard anything?

Edit:
Apparently, it's been pushed back to 2013 sometime. Good read here though.

When you play this game, real life becomes a dream.... this island, team mates and your survival are now your reason for existence... This is now your world...

But seriously.. don't think in over 25 years of gaming I have found many games as engrossing as this, but not knowing your gaming background I have no idea if it's something you would enjoy.

Its a unique roller coaster ride of a game where there are so many life/death decisions, do you try and save a team mate, do you sneak into town at the cover of night to scavenge for food and supplies.. and the costs are high due to the fact that if you do die you lose everything you have accumulated and you have start again with a pistol, a few rations and a long, long walk ahead of you. lol

Oh and for an Alpha mod I think this is a pretty extraordinary game,

Here is a few vids of guys tying to work together when the game was first released.. quite funny, but gives you the idea

the days ahead - YouTube

Ps..I'm in love with game tooo......................
