troubleshooting any computer issue is generally a multi step process with a lot of steps/checks/etc. You start with the easiest/quickest/most likely checks and then move down towards harder/less likely checks. Same with solutions once you know the problem - you start with the least invasive/drastic solutions that are the most likely to resolve the issue and then you slowly move towards the heavy hardware solutions

Tell me about it. After blasting you all last night on TS with my new mike (sorry about that), I spent 30 minutes fiddling with settings to get it near where I thought it was right, then I loaded up an instance of dayz to find my FPS had gone to shit for some reason (less than 2 when i normally get 30-40). Cue another 30 minutes of fiddling and then its nearly midnight and when i finally get it working, I think bugger it, I'll head into the nearest town to get some ammo. Then I find out the zeds are on roids and my 1911 is a peashooter.

Pistols now sort of scale by rarity. and m1911 is only just slightly above makkarov in terms of rarity/availability.
