Do you use Six Updater or DayZ Commander?

Commander, the UI and history/favourites/notes makes it worth it.
SixUpdater just has a horrible UI

Switched from Six Updater to DayZ Commander for the better GUI, server browser and easy steam functionality. It's also much faster to start. Six updater works fine but seems to have a lot of useless stuff built into it, if you're just using it to play DayZ I think commander is much better.

Umm I use the Six Launcher,updates and gives you the server list,but will have a look at the commander

I have always used the direct links to get mine to work (plus help from fellow Toggers when it goes a bit odd).

Index of /latest/ for DayZ
Beta patch for Arma II

Then just run it all from the 'Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch' in my game directory (I bought mine through Steam).
