I am not implying that I have received something, that I am in something or even know what you are talking about, perish the thought. But theoretically, how would one go about hooking up with other toggers in that thing wink-wink nudge-nudge?

The NDA for this is pretty lax.

I have been in some where you had to triple verify the NDA before entering the beta.

Of course back in the 90's, I actually had to sign a paper document and mail it back.

I should also say that with signing the documents I actually received physical product, i.e., CD's. Then when the beta was finished and the product released we received the finished product.

Those were fine old days.

These betas are more teasers (PR) like shareware than a real beta.

No matter what footage is out and available on the web the NDA is still in effect, as always being a TOG member means that we do not break NDA's any more than we do a games EULA, as doing so could have a quite serious effect on our continued membership of TOG.

I am sure management will agree as I have seen many reminders of this within our forums over the last few years.

To aid TOG members participating in the beta there is a thread in the beta forums where Toggers can touch base with other Tog members.

Most games in closed testing phases have their own forums. In past games that I have tested, those forums were in the email which I received inviting me to test.

It still amazes me when posters in general forums start asking/telling about games' specifics when they know they AREN'T suppose to. "Hey, I didn't give details... I just said..."

If you are EVER invited into ANY game testings, look in your email confirmation/invite. The link for testing forums usually lie in there. GO ask/talk in those forums all you want. Use your TOG name in those forums...and other members will find you.

By the way, I pm'ed one of the Moderators/Devs in the public Defiance forums ( http://forums.defiance.com/ ) about all the videos/sites showing early videos of the game play. The Mod informed me that TRION is taking agressive steps with take-down requests and talking with their lawyers about financially suing guilty parties. So, yeah...its a problem...going to be a big problem for the offenders! -)

My first closed beta was for DAoC, and I know what beta forums are. I was asking whether there was already a TOG group, where to meet up, etc., so as not to waste to much time looking for 5 people out of the hundreds or thousands in the beta.

Essentially, for players that are in the beta, my suggestion would be to make a simple 'All about TOG' thread (or similar) within the beta forums. My memory of beta forums for other games are that they typically have a 'guild recruiting' type thread which would be perfect for this.

Links to beta only forums here will likely be deleted, even if they can only be access by players within the beta. As a general rule of thumb, if the info has been released publicly (either through news releases or via a dev in their own forums) then if can be mentioned here. If the info is only available through beta forums or in game, then it is not and the post will be deleted.

I hope that clarifies things somewhat.

Is there a channel on the official TS server that we can use for in-game chat? Or totally forbidden?

I agree with neofit about the TS channel? If I were to make a temporary channel, name it something that is not obvious, password-lock it.... would I be breaking the rules?

I would post a message on the game's beta forums telling the channel name and password and NOT THE TS IP OR PASSWORD.
