Get the standard edition. The digital bonus items are... crap. If you have money to burn go for it.

The steam reward offering Rift: Storm Legion = good assuming you subscribe to Rift, and Rift is a pretty good game.

This whole pre-order and unlock reward thing is a horrid new marketing thing, and while my wallet doesn't count for much, I'm ignoring any new game that has that.

I think that the whole pre-order thing has gone way too far.

Originally, pre-ordering a game would give you access to the beta testing and would cost $10. The idea was for the Devs/Publisher to get an idea about the demand for their game. For the players, it would give them an idea if they want to buy the game when it releases. The pre-order $10 would be deducted from the price of the release version when it showed up in the stores.

Today, that is not the case. Now you have to pay full price for a game to "preview" it? What? So it would be like having to pay full price for an auto before test driving it?!

So, yeah, I feel the frustrations from everyone. If I weren't testing it, I would probably be on the fence whether I would be buying it. I would probably have to play it at a friends' house before actually thinking on buying it.
