I buy pretty much all of my games from steam these days. There are only positive things getting a game through steam. Just make sure you have enough download quota to download your games or that you are with an ISP that provides quota-free Steam downloads.

There will be no high-ping issues because of steam. The only thing that would slow down if the steam servers are very busy is the download speed of your games.

When you own a game through Steam you can download it as many times as you like and to any computer in the world. You don't have to worry about keeping those discs or cd-keys safe anymore.

It also makes it real easy to build a "friends" list (like maybe fellow TOGgers ) so you can see who is online and playing what game.

There is no lag or ping problems due to Steam that I'm aware of.

Now if I only had a decent bandwidth to download all the games I'd like............

The biggest downside is buying so many games and not having the time to play them all.

Steam is an innovation. If its available on steam I wont buy a disk ever again

lol yea the only downside I see too ...

Steam just makes it easier, all your purchased games in one spot with access to chat to friends in game with text or voice who might not even be playing that game and loads more.

I for one like things organized and Steam provides that plus you have access to you download anytime ... just my advice would be to back up the steamapps dir tho as a fresh install of windows and redownload for me means approx 219gig hehe this is mainly due to the insane bulk pack deals that Steam puts out ... I have only clocked about 15% of my library X_X

<3 Steam

219GB?

Small potatoes!

I have a 1TB drive just for steam, and it's almost full, over 700GB with about 80% of my games installed.

Steam is good when the aussie dollar is strong - today it's around 93cents to the us$1; good buying time.
