I just DL Dark forces for a looky and OMG FPS has moved on so much in 15 years. I spent weeks/months on that game and remembered it being so much 'clearer'.

I will still enjoy playing it through - one more time!!!

So KOTOR is on special today for $2.50.

I've never played it but recall reading that with the community patch / mod it's not a bad game. Anyone know if I'm on the right track there, and if the patch/mod works with Steam?

EDIT: Actually I think I might be thinking of the Restoration Mod for KOTOR2.

How's it hold up these days for someone who has no particular attachment to SW games or this one in particular?

I'm actually not that keen on the star wars franchise but enjoyed the KOTOR games none the less. Interface feels quite clunky and outdated now but the characters, story etc will always be top notch.

I downloaded KOTOR last time it was on special - Could not bring myself to play it for more than 30 mins or so a bit dated now.

They need to remake the X-Wing and Tie Fighter games.

I'm hoping for Battlefront 2 for $2.00. I'm way over my gaming budget and need dirt cheap! hehe

So far all 3 days have been 75% off, so if it comes up as a daily special it's more likely to be $5.

Purchased KOTOR and played through the intro. Graphics and controls obviously dated, but doesn't seem to bad (ignoring the lack of originality so far). Encountered a bug where I can't move my character at times. Saving and reloading seems to fix it. I think I'll get my $2.50 worth out of it.
