Ozgameshop sent this to me:

We have just been informed that Deus Ex Human Revolution will NOT be region-locked and WILL indeed work in Australia. This announcement was made on Eidos' offical forums: http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=119397.
After the mixed messages we've had this week, we understand that some of you may have ordered the game at local retailers and so it is still our intention to refund all orders made at ozgameshop.com.
If you would like us to send the game to you, please reply to this email as soon as possible stating your order number which can be found on your order confirmation email or by logging in to the website and clicking on My Orders. Please let us know by Monday August 22nd.
If you do not reply to this email, we will assume that you do not want the game and will process your refund.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience and confusion this may have caused.
Many thanks,
The team at ozgameshop.com

Yea Squeenix dropped the ball on this one. Did you hear that sound? It's the noise of Squeenix's marketing department being thrown off the top of the building and slamming head first in the pavement. It is complimented by the noise of their legal branch slamming heads against the wall. "Hey guys how should we make more money? Let's put in region restrictions so people have to pay for games from their own regions! Holy shit did we just lose all of our preorders from the UK?"

If you missed this one, Ozgameshop have the "limited edition" on sale for $26 for consoles or $31 for PC, but all the other editions - including regular - are still the regular prices.

Search results for "Deus Ex Human Revolution" at ozgameshop.com
