Honestly why do people buy computer software in this country?
If you can't get it cheap through digital distribution, just buy a physical copy from overseas.

L.A. Noire just arrived on my doorstep after I ordered it from Ozgameshop 2 weeks ago for A$44, they now have it at $41.
Their regular price for certain games are far below the inflated prices on Steam, for example TW Shogun 2 on steam is $89.99 on Ozgameshop it is A$25.99 (postage to Oz is free).
MW3 on steam is $100, Ozgameshop has it at $54.

The saved slab in cost is well worth the two week wait.

I agree ... however, Steam does have sales and there are times when the product can be purchased cheaper through Steam than other outlets, be they online or bricks-and-mortar.

/au SteamPrices.com is a great tool for finding those bargins

The best bit is... US still only pays $45! WTF!
Yeah batman was cheap initially, even better if you owned the asylum game.
Then it just doubled, not only Batman, but also LA Noire and Assassin's creed Revelations went to $79.

I really enjoy the AC games and preordered it pretty much instantly as my Xmas break game, I guess I got lucky to managed to get it for $49.

Weirdness going on alright, I also am on gamersgate mailing list and they send me specials in pounds for some reason and when I click those URL's I manage to get stuff cheap sometimes although visiting their site directly though doesn't work for the same games as the ones you get emailed links for.

I also bought both Skyrim and Saints Row 3 on Greenmangaming, I only bought Steam games through them so far but it's easy, they just send you the key.

They still have Arkham City cheap as well, I enjoyed the Batman game but I wouldn't call myself a fan so I'll wait for a bargain bin price on Arkham City, not a quality thing as I hear it's excellent it's just not really my cup of tea.
