Lunar Flight
 

Put that snoopy hat on! This is simple in its premise, maneuver a lunar shuttle from one base to another in a large crater on the moon. But its much more difficult than that. With a limited amount of fuel you need a delicate touch on the thrusters and the main engine to avoid crashing, which you'll do alot. Landing is the lynch pin and is bloody difficult.

A fine small indie game that takes a second to learn and a lifetime to master. Well recommended.

Indeed it is an amazing game if I do say so myself, perfectly suited to TOG's who like games that expect something from them. ;)

I can recommend that if you do have questions about the game I have been led to believe that sh0v0r is in a position to help you with your enquiries.

As the original lunar lander (as played on a compucolor computer back in 1978 ) was what got me into IT in the first place, and hence started me on the long and convoluted road that led me to be here I am going to give this game a go.

I may even write up a review.

Makes me want to steal andy thomas's space suit from the adelaide museum and wear it while playing(except he's like 5 foot tall).

So what else have you made and sequel?

Great fun! :) Though, I'm quickly racking up a debt that makes the US Treasury look frugal. I almost completed a mission! Alas, I managed to lose it in the last 20 feet. :\ Have done lots of test landings, just not where I'm meant to be. ;)

Oooh, I do have a couple of questions, although not specifically about in-game. How difficult is it to integrate with Steam DRM? Do they simply slap a wrapper around your executable? And achievements!? Do you call a function in an embedded DLL or do you have to actually address something? :) I've always been curious!

This is my first indie game, before that I worked for several studios in Australia for 10 years, Ratbag Games in Adelaide, Pandemic in Brisbane, Krome in Brisbane...

It's fairly straight forward, they provide a DLL that you link into your game and call its functions. Achievements are setup on their web interface, then you flag them through the SDK's functions. For actual DRM they do provide a wrapper that they apply to your Exe if you want. I didn't use it though, the game is already cracked and pirated thanks to the Gamers Gate version so there's no point trying to fight it. People will buy if they're going to buy it.
