Anyone else purchased & playing this title?
Legend of Dungeon
is a rogue-like-like
, beat-'em-up, 8-bit artwork style game by the husband and wife team of RobotLovesKitty
. "Legend has it there's a treasure on the 26th floor..." and so begins your adventure. Get to the bottom floor, find the treasure, and bring it back to the tavern where you started.
Each game is randomly generated, to include the dungeon, treasure, monsters, traps, & lighting. Yes, lighting....which is one good reason to purchase this game. Lights & shadows are dynamically generated for each room; from brightly lit to pitch black. I suggest you watch the video on the LoD page linked above to see what I mean. Also has a web-accessible highscore
list (My highest ranking is #102 as of posting time - EDIT: Now #77).
Currently in playable version Alpha Minotaur 3. Each of the alpha releases are following an alphabetical naming scheme. They were streaming
the testing of the current alpha build Alpha Nymph the other day (to include shops!).
the $10 version (alpha, beta, & final releases + expansions & Steam key [coming soon - Greenlit
!]) and I've been playing this almost non-stop for the last several days. It took me several games to pick up on the techniques you'll need to be successful, but once you catch on, I found it extremely fun. You never know how the dungeons are going to generate or what you'll find through the next door. Plenty of "Oh crap!" moments; both good and bad.
Up to 4-player action (local).
Gamepad/controller recommended! (I actually picked up a wired XBox 360 controller to play this and a few other retro-styled games.)
