For the past few years Valve have released for the X-Mass period which is, well, a ways off yet. I'm not sure I'd trust anyone claiming to know what Valve will or will not being doing in 10 to 11 months time.

yeah, reports like this one are all over various gaming sites at the moment but none of them actually provide a solid source for this information so I wouldn't trust it.
