Just Cause 2 Demo out on Steam

Worth the download or just all hype ?

I saw the trailer and it looks interesting, I did not play the first just cause but read some reviews, and they weren't favourable.

It might be an idea to look at the demo and see how it plays, then wait for the reviews, and see if anyone else has played the game.

I tend to check the eurogamer reviews as they usually point out the negatives as well as the positives, unlike some publisher paid sites that give a real hyped version of their games.

Loved the first despite its many flaws, have pre-ordered the sequel. From the trailers it seems to be a vast improvement over the original, but hard to tell without having played the full game. I have a feeling the demo will be quite limited, kinda hard to make a good demo of a sandbox game I reckon.

Anyway, if you just want pure over the top action then it's definitely worth a look, but I wouldn't be surprised if the end product is full of bugs and repetitive gameplay like the first.

Geez Vulc where do you find the time Im struggling with my backlog at the moment. Havent even fired up SupCom2 yet....

The demo is great fun... basically your limited to one island for 30 mins but that island is 35sq miles (believe the full game has many islands at 400sq miles) within the 30 min time frame you have plenty of time to cause destruction and even unlock a few Black market vehicles and weapons...Then when your times up just restart and try it all again differently...
I've been enjoying grappling enemies to gas canisters then blowing the top dragging said enemy off cliffs... There's giant radio towers to blow and some sort of rocket/missile silo just begging to be taken out... controls take a bit of getting used to being 3PS and would probably be played best on a controller if I had one (can't believe I said that,where do I hand in my PC gamer card)

But...the thrill of taking off in a heli, noticed a heli following...jump out of cockpit a swing around to the front of the heli, grapple across to other heli... toss a grenade into cockpit and then free fall/base jump onto a speeding motorcycle ...WOW, just WOW

A game controller should compliment every PC players arsenal of tools. I mean, why would you play for example Grand Theft Auto with Mouse/Keyboard? I can't say I have used mine very often, but for 3PS and driving games it's indispensable.

So does that mean you can play the whole game just by downloading the demo? Or can you play just that island for as long as you want but no other islands?
