Just a heads up for anyone who has Supreme Commander 2. Saved games will not work if your Steam Community name has any character which are invalid for a folder name. Seems depending upon your OS / Steam UI you may or may not get a failed message when attempting to save.

Hey guys, I think I got a fix for this. You have to change your steam name to something that is legal to put into a folder name. In other words, your name can't have /\?:*<>| in it. This is because the game makes a new folder inside the save game folder with your steam name, so if your steam name has any illegal characters in it, it fails to make the folder and thus fails to save anything. I'm sure a patch will come to fix this, but this will fix it until then.

Unfortunately, from testing here, you need to get through to the next mission and start it after "fixing" your Steam community name before it will save properly (you can't Alt-tab / Shift-tab fix it and then have it save immediately). You may be able to restart the current mission as an alternative - haven't tested this though.
Pretty stupid to use the community name rather than the steam login name. One wonders what will happen if you change your steam name slightly at some point - will you still see your previous saves? I'm guessing not - so don't go haphazardly changing our Steam community name if playing SupCom2.
