Crysis Wars fail

Found out yesterday that Crysis Wars Multiplayer has issues with the CD key Steam provides. Upon connecting to a PB active server (Gamearena) I get an invalid CD key error.
I have read the forums about it and many others have the same situation.
Instead of crawling to EA for help, I wanted to get this sorted by Steam - after all, I want to use it trough my Steam Library, with the view to possibly join other TOG users in MP.

I have put in a Steam support request, stating my issues. I'm waiting for a reply, so I'll post when it arrives.

You're not missing much. It's a pretty dead multiplayer scene, don't expect anything new of fantastic if/when you finally do get your key issues sorted. There are better and much more popular multiplayer games around.

Crysis Wars is purely Crytek's way to demonstrate that their engine can do multiplayer and sync networked clients online. It wasn't ever trying to be a serious contender for your online gaming hours, it's just a pony show for potential developers looking to licence their technology for other games.

That's a good enough reason alone for me not to even bother downloading it, despite owning it. Hate PB with a passion, always had trouble with PB games.

Don't miss out on MWLL cause of a pet peeve. The steam key issues I have had and they get resolved in a few days. MWLL stands alone, a fantastic piece of work on an aging engine. They really have squeezed the life out of the tools that they have at their disposal and with excellent results. Come join the TOGgers enjoying Mech battles several times a week

So far there hasn't been one person that one of us mech lovers hasn't been able to help get the game running (both MWLL and Crysis Wars) ... Yes there are some annoying problems with steam version but I think nearly all of us playing (which is easy double digits) have the steam version.

Try also admin rights on the exec located in the steamapps/common dir we had someone with a CD error just the other day, what was happening when crysis wars tried to match the key to the server to validate it was failing because of user rights (I know weird but true) however did not tell you that this was the case. We tried everything from modem resets to even clearing browser cookies and all it was, was the need for admin mode to be setup to the exec lol.
