Mafia II: Jimmy's Vendetta (spawning below map fix)

If, like me, you picked up Mafia II (incl. all DLC) during the Steam Christmas sale and if, like me, you fired up the Jimmy's Vendetta DLC only to wonder "WTF?!" as after the first mission you end up spawning below the map, I can thoroughly recommend this fix (worked for me):

If this doesn't work for you, check out the rest of the thread - alas, this isn't a rare bug.

Apparently after the first mission, I've now travelled over 6km on foot (in reality, that should say, "falling through skybox for over 6km"). On the plus side, I became really familiar with that first mission - having now played it over, and over, and over...

Ive not had this problem with jimmy's vendetta and ive played it right through.

However this was before the latest patch and over xmas ive played through joes adventures and ive been in a car that disapears half through the floor, my legs disapeared through the floor and goodness knows how many bugs, so thanks for posting this unknown

I picked up Jimmy's Vendetta & Jo's Adventure during the sale. I've played 4 or 5 missions in Vendetta & had no problems. But thanks for the link just in case things go pear shaped

The problem appears to only be at the start of the second mission and only under certain circumstances - for example, for me it happened each and every time when I set difficulty to "hard"; but when I set it to "medium" (or "normal" or whatever the hell the middle one is), it all worked fine.

I used the fix referenced in the OP so that I could spawn a new game with the difficulty set to "hard" yet still have everything work. After that problem with the second mission, things have been going along just fine.
