Default X3 - Terrian Conflict

Just got to say that I'm and loving X3TC. I used to play X2 - the threat, so when I saw this game so cheap on steam I had to buy it. The game is simply immersive, a huge sandbox game that whilst possibly outdated (2009) has really nice eye candy.

Been reading that Egosoft are developing TNBT (the next big thing). Hope they stay true to the X-universe and not go down the road of a space MMO. I love the single player experience and whilst have not tried any of the mods/scripts for the game yet, these scripts and mods wont see daylight if the TNBT becomes a MMO.

I hope they add ground combat to an already impressive sandbox game.

Really? I'm not sure if I want to see that as it would mean planetary interaction, which would mean possibly a rather well decked out spec'ed computer.

I have this game on steam but haven't got around to trying it yet - I read it has an uber steep learning curve..?

It has a very steep learning curve. Get used to googling.

You have to have a pretty decked out PC to run X3 anyway, once you get into several ships on a side with all the particle physics, well things can get pretty choppy if you don't. Being on the ground should require less, not more unless there were a lot of baddies shooting.

The X series is pretty good in my opinion. You can create a pretty huge corporation with everything from small ships to destroyers and carriers carrying 150 fighters. It is pretty, and has huge potential in empire building with the only missing really is a ground part.
