gday everyone,

THANKS Drac, he was very helpful everyone.

I will explain whats happening for people in future. I purchased Brink through the UK "GAME PC downloads" website. Using Paypal.

I registered on the site, and went through the purchasing details. Interestingly it sent me to a French paypal site, luckily it looks the same, and has the same process. I recieved the purchase emails saying that they have a verification stage to go through first to cover their customers.

I then recieved an email 2 hours later saying that my payment was refused due to "Fraud", and asking me to verify myself. I then tried my CC, and that also met with the same issue.

Needless to say their 7 days a week support service must have been watching the FA cup as i have not heard from them since friday.

And now when i goto purchase i keep getting refused.

Im not willing to pay the exhorbitant $89.00 AU for a game i can get for 29.00 in pounds. Especially sight unseen. People tell me its different but good. im unwilling to shell out that for a game i potentially wont like.

So just beware everyone. I will update this post when i get a response from them.

Hank

Hopefully you get it all sorted when folks return after the weekend (if not before); alas, despite being the 21st century with a "global, connected, digital economy", many businesses can't seem to let go of their 19th century mindset...

Are you suggesting the entire world should synchronize their clocks unknown?
That would be something to see lol

Do I think businesses/industries should update their thinking and attitudes to match the current century, then yes.

If you're asking about clock time (hours/minutes/seconds), then you've lost me as I didn't mention anything about clocks.

Well the only reasonable way for a "global" business to service all their customers when they are open would be for the whole world to be on the same time, which is impossible.

Either that or hire enough workers to stay open 24/7

What is Internet Time?

Personally I'm all for it. The current time system sucks balls. It'll never happen though.

Don't know what post you're reading Dx, but I wrote about "global ... economy", not individual businesses, and I opined about business attitudes/mindset (ie., based on Hank's experience which was a lot more than just people not working/responding on weekends), not opening hours.

Hi all,

Still no answer from these guys as yet. Interested to see what the response is.

Having said this, they are on UK time, therefore it may take until tuesday night/wednesday morning depending on their workload.

I think the effort is worth the savings considering how badly the publishers treat the AUS steam community.

$89.00 AU on the AUS steam store vs. £29.00 on the UK steam store which equates to $45.00AU?????? price gouging at its best as far as im concerned.
