Out today:

Frozen Synapse on Steam

I played the Beta and it was good, but now it's been polished up to a thing of loveliness and released.

Price might seem a little steep for an indie game......but if you fancy some turn-based (you can opt to get notifications of new turns e-mailed to you, or play simultaneously) squad level tactics with mates I'd recommend you pair up and split the cost of the two-packs.

It seems a very simple concept, as a lot of the best ideas are, but it's filled with tension, excitement, satisfaction and is challenging without being frustrating.

Hope to see some of you in game (my in-game name is the same as my forum name, come friend me up and challenge me to a game),

If anyone buys it on steam and wants to send me a gift'ed 2nd friends copy that would be cool.

Apparently at the moment if you purchase the game you get a 2nd one to give away free!

Well my first reaction was "bleh" turn based crap.....but I forwarded a bit and watched and thought, oooh that might actually be fun.

Do you need to gift the 2nd copy immediately on purchase?

Pretty sure it just stays in your gift bank until you are ready to use it.

As for the copy I was chasing, I worked out a deal with Warrender, so he got something he wanted and I got something I wanted, so the gifting idea worked out well for us.

Good work all, your next mission is to get more of you mates on board. Populate your friends list with their names and it's always more satisfying besting a mate than a random.

Feel free to post up any queries here as I have been playing since beta (only a total of about 16 matches or so though) and might be able to help out.

P.S. Following the developers Twitter feed; They are suffering due to overwhelming demand on their servers, so there is some slow-down with in game performance at the moment. They have already made improvements but have had to "shard" (split) servers (hopefully) temporarily; which is a pain. @mode7games is the Twitter feed to follow if you are interested.
