Just got the game. Not sure what server I will be playing, but I live in Northen Cal.
In game name and steam name is dday_0612 Edit: Chose server Texas, although I am happy to change if that is helpful. I am just playing the single player campaign atm.

Yes, it would be better to play on one server.....but if you already have friendship lists built up on the server you are one don't sweat it. I am playing against mostly UK2 opponents, but I do log into the Texas server to play against some existing friends. The stats are tracked across the two (as far as I can tell!) and you still get e-mail reminders of turns etc. You do have to exit the game to change servers though (which is a pain), and also you do not in-game notifications of turns ready on a different server. TLDR version: It's all okay. If you want to challenge someone to a game that is listed in the first post; switch to that server when you log into the game and lay the gauntlet down.
