Jakob Pavlov and I had just finished a multiplayer game and so I challenged back. Each side in this new game has just three machine gunners and we start on opposite sides of the map. I look at my men and think to myself 'This is reasonable - I should be able to reach certain choke-points before Jakob can get to position', so everything is looking fine.
I move my three men, carefully gauging angles and cross-fire directions. Jakob won our last encounter so I had learned a thing or two about how he plays so I was feeling confident I could expect him to do the unexpected. I didn't bother testing the setup by moving his men because it all looked pretty straight-forward.
The turn is sent off and then during the day Jakob has his turn and it comes back.
Anyhow, I just opened the file back up to have my second turn. The turn plays out and there is something wrong. My men have disappeared. Completely gone. At the end of the turn there are ghost images of where they started so I play the turn again. Still no men.
At this point I zoom right out and see Jakob's three machine-gunners in their start positions.
Finally dawns on me that instead of moving my men during the setup, I'd only moved Jakob's in the 'test phase' leaving all my men sitting back where they started.
