Hey TOGs, has anybody tried this? Planning to give it a shot tomorrow. seemed like a really small download on Steam. Essentially seams to be a free2play shooter with a Combat Arms style model from what I gathered from the website FAQ. Steam shows it as having co-op play but couldn't find anything like that on the game's website.

Haven't played yet, but poked around briefly (on the phone with some ppl for other things) and its model definitely seems to be combat arms like. Free2play shooter with a shop for rent/purchase of items. ingame and paid currency to get them. I couldn't see any co-op feature though which was the main reason I wanted to try it.

(Co-op as in games like killing floor etc)

I was turned off this by the RPS preview

In-game “GP” is purchased in very peculiar amounts, that just happen to fall short of the prices of in-game items. So that Night Stalker set will cost you 12,450GP. But you can only buy 11,470 for $10 or 22,380 for $20. To permanently add the Beserker ability to your character will cost you 4,790GP, but the smallest amount you can buy is 4,270 for five bucks. And so on. It’s certainly nowhere near as egregious and foul as Microsoft’s similar system for Xbox purchases, but it’s rather a shame they’re doing it.

I can vouch for the buy stuff frequency. I had to go through about 20 different screens before I reached the server browser (setting up my new character) and every other was "hey buy this!"

I didn't have to endure a buy me now extended process but I thought the game was very 'meh'. Deleted it.

finally decided to give this a try yesterday. Found it a bit buggy, and didn't feel very fluid to me. OK, so it's only beta, but they're already asking for cash, they'd want a lot better product to get even a couple of $ out of me.

For a free to play game it's OK I guess, but for a pay to win game it's just rubbish, be better off paying COD's exorbitant prices.

it playes more like Ghost recon, still a tad laggy. doesn't seem many hackers (not like combatarms. I haven't looked at the prices of the guns versus the cash we get ingame.
Looks like a fairly straight forward game so far.
