Default Steam and serial codes.

Hey guys i figured id put a post out about this since i didnt know about it and im not sure how many do, it could just be a derp moment for myself.

I bought sims 3 retail because i wanted the awesome collector stuff and i figured i could just add it to steam later and then buy the exp packs. Boy was i wrong. Steam only excepts a small few serial codes for games, despite actually selling them themselves. I was not aware of this and i admit i feel pretty stupid :/

So be careful when buying the retail copy as steam might not want anything to do with it. *sobs over her non steam version of sims 3*

Thanks for the post mate ... its good to have this pop up every now and then considering TOG's growth and how it can be misleading.

I feel your pain.

In all honesty, I still blame Microsoft for all of this. MS should have build Games For Windows Live to be what Steam is now, only better, it would have had universal support from the game development industry - kinda like an extended Direct-X package. They intentionally ignored the PC to promote their Xbox as the favoured gaming platform and we're still dealing with the repercussions decades later.

Steam vs Origin - also Microsoft's fault.

My hangnail, also MS's fault - I'd type less if it wasn't for them!@
